For over 17 years, Hadiah Sastera has been holding true to its objectives of generating interest and nurturing talent among the budding writers.

Today, this yearly event is still much anticipated for by writers and readers alike because it not only provides an arena for young writers to exhibit their works but also collects new material that often brighten up the local literary selections.

Hadiah Sastera is also open to all citizens of Malaysia and is divided into five categories namely Short Stories, Short Stories (Adolescent), Poems, Novels (Adolescent) and Literature Critics.
